crankshaft seals

What is the effect on a Johnson 175 if it had bad cyl crankshaft seals in it ? how could you test crankcase pressure on a cyl ? Thanks for the input . JJB

Leaking upper/lower crankshaft seals will cause: (A) idling problems(lean) (B) possible water in lower cylinders (C) fuel /oil mixture in stator area.
If you are talking about the seal rings on crankshaft, problems can range from idling & hole shot problems to weak top end and engine will act like it has a electrical problems

on the seal rings is there a way to test the crankcase pressure to see if there are leaking ? Thanks for the input ?

Not really as there is no way to hold piston in position to block both intake and exhaust ports and pressurize the crankcase, still the results would be questionable.
