I am listing a pick-up for my BIL. He lives in Lake Havasu, AZ, I live in SoCal. I want to list it in both places to get more exposure. Also, I literally live at the intersection of four counties, so when I list something for myself there are about three Craig's "lists" that make sense for me to post on I have tried this a few times with cars/boats etc. and there is a pop-up that says something like: "looks very similar to a posting here" and it won't let me post. However, I have seen this multiple times from other sellers i.e. same add in multiple places. How do they do it? I am not a big rules breaker, but I literally need coverage in multiple places to make Craig's List workable for me. Yes, they can do whatever they want, and yes, as a Mod I am a hypocrite for trying to subvert their rules, but humor me, K?

Oh, and I have tried changing the wording some and that doesn't work. Besides I see them posted identically from others . . .

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I guess I assumed that the text was doing it as I have tried logged in and not logged in. Goes to show what an amateur I am at skirting the rules . . .

QC, I do mine from the same account but I switch some sentences around in the ad. Works every time.

Yep, change some words and pictures and you should be fine. I now post pictures on CL the same way I do here...photobucket baby!:D You can also put more up & they can be larger too (message board size of course.) Seems to generate a little more interest.

Good luck w/ the truck - BOB

Yes, we buy both trucks........

Having Consulted With My Colleagues And Based On The Information Gathered From The Nigerian Chambers Of Commerce And Industry, I Have The Privilege To Request For Your Assistance To Transfer The Sum Of $47,500,000.00 (forty Seven Million, Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) Into Your Accounts. The Above Sum Resulted From An Over-invoiced Contract, Executed Commissioned And Paid For About Five Years (5) Ago By A Foreign Contractor. This Action Was However Intentional And Since Then The Fund Has Been In A Suspense Account At The Central Bank Of Nigeria Apex Bank.

We Are Now Ready To Transfer The Fund Overseas And That Is Where You Come In. It Is Important To Inform You That As Civil Servants, We Are Forbidden To Operate A Foreign Account; That Is Why We Require Your Assistance. The Total Sum Will Be Shared As Follows: 70% For Us, 25% For You And 5% For Local And International Expenses Incident To The Transfer.

The Transfer Is Risk Free On Both Sides. I Am An Accountant With The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (nnpc). If You Find This Proposal Acceptable, We Shall Require The Following Documents:

(a) Your Banker's Name, Telephone, Account And Fax Numbers.

(b) Your Private Telephone And Fax Numbers -- For Confidentiality And Easy Communication.

(c) Your Letter-headed Paper Stamped And Signed.

Alternatively We Will Furnish You With The Text Of What To Type Into Your Letter-headed Paper, Along With A Breakdown Explaining, Comprehensively What We Require Of You. The Business Will Take Us Thirty (30) Working Days To Accomplish. :D

Re: Craig's List question

Yep, just change the wording in the title and body of the ad. This works for me.

Previously I have changed the title and the words, but I don't think I have ever done all three title, words, pics. I was surprised before when I couldn't outsmart it . . . I'd rather keep this stuff on one email addy, so when he gets me the pics of the Ford I'll see if it will work by changing all but the email. I saw others doing the same and I just couldn't get it to go last time I tried. I dunno . . .

The problem you are having is time sensitive, if you wait more than 24 hours between postings you will be able to post the same ad to different areas.

really if you post a link, or pm someone, here on the forum.
i'm sure you would find plenty of help in getting posted around C L. might get more coverage than you bargained for.

Re: Craig's List question

I don't need to sell a truck ... I just found out that I have a Nigerian uncle who left me a fortune! All I have to do to collect it is to provide all of my bank info, so the attorney there can wire the money to me!

I hear Tiger Woods is gonna have to sell his yacht, now that all his sponsors are bailing. I think ima gonna buy it!
