Cracked Volvo SX Sterndrive

It is on a 2005 Four Winn's. Has the 3.0L Engine. There's a small crack in the outdrive, however runs fine and shifts into gears fine on the trailer. Before I take it to the lake should there be any issues?

you will likely be fine. you got some water trapped in a void there and ice cracked the drive.

This is just another reason to pull the drive every fall/winter. This would not have happened if the drive was pulled before a freeze occurred.

Thanks, I appreciate it. That would make sense as the previous owner let it sit for several years. I'm launching it Thursday so I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes.

i have been there one two years ago and posted it here but nobody had an answer so i panicked. well... the sx drive is a free flow design where no gasket it used and the seal are the bellows not the housing. water floods tht drive and some water might get trapped if the drain passaqges clogg and burst due to freeze. not pretty but no fault. it has not any effect so just go boatin. no need to pull the drive for it.
