Cracked stow compartment? What to do?

I have a small compartment in the raised portion of the bow of my fish & ski. It has cracks in the bottom like someone dropped something heavy in it. It seems solid and is not wet. I can still use it as is for PFD's, rope, cushions, etc. I thought it was rot, but it just looks like it's busted. Any thoughts on repairing this or should I leave it alone and just stow light stuff in it?

Thanks,

Chris

Chris, is it fiberglass or plastic? If it's glass, you might be able to sand it down, lay some epoxy & fiberglass and make repairs yourself. If that bothers you (and I'm definitely not a fiberglassier) then I'm sure a good marina would have a body man willing & able.
If it's plastic, um, I don't know.... Superglue?
Happy Boating! (and good luck!!)
Brian

Were it mine I probably would cut out a piece of 1/4 or 3/8" plywood to fit the bottom, give it a good coat of oil base paint or epoxy and drop it in.

It's fiberglass. I have a cooler insert that is made of plastic, but this compartment is "glass". I have no problem trying to do the repair myself, as long as I know how. Is there a resource for help?

Thanks SoLittle, I was wondering if something like that would be OK. I thought I might cover the plywood in carpet to give it a finished look.
