2001 mercruiser 5.7 efi closed loop cooling system.
Yesterday after running for a few hours and shutting down to drift/fish, the engine wouldnt restart. i found the cylinders 2-8 had seawater in them. dealt with that to stop cylinder corrosion. boat is used in saltwater, puget sound. Going to replace both manifolds and both risers... but here's the question.
i see genuine mercruiser manifolds, then powder/ceraminc coated, and aluminum.... are available.
what is better? dont care about cost.. just better?
