Re: cracked block test

Why change out so many parts without diagnosing the problem first? Just pressurize the cooling side and see where the air comes from.

yes, or plug the hose going to the exhaust manifold, to isolate it from the system, and use a T on intake hose side with guage on 1 leg and pressure valve on other. ( I used a tire valve to put air in and hold )

Re: cracked block test

It's a 4 cylinder engine. Rent a compression tester, #3 or #4 cylinder will be dead. Check for rusty water trails under the carb/exhaust manifold. Sigh. Kick the tires and winterize better next time.

What are you asking for? The way I see it, you have 3 options...
1. find a good used block and swap it out.
2. Buy a new engine, swap it out.
3. Continue to use the boat as it is.

Continuing to ask the same questions here will not change the situation.

As for 'how to test the engine for a leak'.... You have already been told, twice.... In the other thread... Just follow the directions I gave you, complete with pressure gauge, various hardware fittings and compressed air....

With sea water circulating in the oil passages, you will damage the engine. You could spin a bearing, or damage a cam lobe... Then you WILL be putting a complete new engine in...

And you are in Hawaii, you're in the ocean. An engine failure could be a serious problem...

Re: cracked block test

Please don't take this as criticism, but this is a perfect example of why a first time (or anytime for that matter) buyer should spend a couple hundred dollars for a survey from a reputable technician before you buy a boat. The less expensive (especially if it is free:eek:) the boat, the more it is worth it.
