Cracked Block 5.7GI-E

So a friend of mine just got a steal of a deal on a 2004 Glastron with the Volvo Penta 5.7L GI-E engine. It was a steal because the engine block and risers are cracked. The hours gauge on the thing says 48 hours. Its a shame, the engine looks brand spanking new and shiny red.

So, reading around on the net, I see that the 5.7 GI-E uses a GM 350 880 casted block. Is this correct? Since it has such ridiculously low hours, I think we're just going to find a new or cleaned up 880 casted block (I've got a machine shop I like to use that can probably hook me up with something without screwing with a junk yard) and new risers and just swap parts into it. So basically, only costs will be new gaskets, seals, and rings, along with the block and risers.

Any suggestions/ideas? Do I have anything wrong? Thanks!
