I know...that was stupid!!!
I could not get the head off because the bolts were totally siezed. I am sure this motor overheated because the head had that classic discolored metal look that was different than the block. I was tapping on the head in the direction away from the block with a hammer and chisel when it finally budged. Well, after removing it I noticed the crack (probably from me). The engine ran before I took the head off so I know it wasn't seized or anything.

My question: It this motor now an anchor or can it be welded along the crack or can I used JB weld?

Looks like an anchor to me!....maybe locate/purchase another used, running motor same size, model, etc.....then keep your old cracked motor for spare parts?....

Ugh! That's what I was afraid of. At least I only paid $25 for it because it was stuck. Pb blaster quickly freed it up though and it started before I took the head off.
