hey everyone, I'm looking at a 2017 200 SS Four Winns with 65 hours on the meter, there is a 2 inch crack in the floor on the transition between the floor and side wall.

1) Is this a big deal to have on a newish boat ?
2) Do you need to get something like this fixed and any idea what it costs? Guessing $200-$500 ?
3) Does anyone know if Four Winns actually has any type of wood core or is it truly all fibreglass

Not a good sign on such a new boat. You don't have to get it fixed, but probably should. I am wondering if you will see other cracks appear :noidea:

Maybe you should stop looking at this boat

Not sure about the wood . . . maybe you can check out some product brochures to see if there is any mention of structural materials or check out some factory tour photos/videos.

Also do some Google searching for similar Four Winns problems . . .

If you do go forward with the boat purchase, get a pre-purchase survey as a contingency to the sale.

Four Winns recently has been touting wood free. They're still in business and very responsive when I needed them so my advice....call them with the HID and your questions.

Just a guess...probably dropped an anchor or other heavy object. I had a couple hairline cracks on the cap of my hull that a marina repaired with no further issues. I wouldn't get too wrapped up unless Four Winns says otherwise.

You might also ask if the hull warranty is transferable and covers this. I think its at least 5 if not 10 years.

The boat would have 3 year warranty left on it from what I'm told, but what I've read is that good luck getting Four Winns to cover it. Practically never happens for what could end up being deemed as "hair line crack" as per their fine print. I'm not sure if this is the case or not, just going off what I've read/heard. Anyone care to comment on that ?
