cowl gaskets

I have run across several motors that I have bought to rebuild. It seems like every one of them has a damaged or missing gasket that seal between the cowl or hood and the lower end of the housing.
Does anyone have any ideas on where I might locate the gaskets or has anyone used something else as a gasket.

I just re-discovered this site:

It actually had the original rubber bumper 0r rub rail for a 57 thunder hawk boat.
It looks like they have a LOT of gasket type extrusions in u h or j shapes.
I am going to try and measure and see if I can get a one size fists most- gasket
will keep you all posted
