Cover engine or not?

I have upgraded my boat and can no longer store the new boat in the garage and must leave it parked in the drive way. :( Is it OK to cover the outboard using a loose fitting commercial cover? I would like to cover the engine to keep sun, rain, leaves off the engine.

Advice, recommendations much appreciated.

David

Cover it, but make sure it can vent to let the moisture buildup out.

I cover all my outboards stored outside. It is a good idea to make sure they are dry before covering.

These work excellent, providing weather and UV protection. They're custom fit.

www.toughduck.com

If you have an Academy Sports store near you they have decent motor covers for around 20 bucks. I have had one for about 2 years and it's holding up well.
