corrosion and salt rear exhaust port AQ151C Volvo

Each year when I take off the exhaust manifold to check or replace, there is a salt build up at the rear exhaust port. I have been using the Osco manifold. I have even had to have the head built up once. The rubber flaps look to be OK at both locations on the outdrive (290). I have been told to have a stainless sleeve installed into the exhaust port, would this help the corrosion? Boat is used mostly in the salt water, (Puget Sound) and there are lots of large wakes from ferries and large ships at times. When crabbing or shrimping it does require backing against the waves to pull pots. The boat is a 19ft.1988 (bought new) so I would guess the engine set up is around 1987 or so. Any good fixes you guys know about, Thanks and good boating to all

Replace the Head and Manifold... I did this replacement two years ago on my 19' Galaxy Infinity 1990 AQ131. I purchased the boat as the third owner eight years ago and the stainless repair had already been done, the repair did not prevent the corrosion from occurring and I had to remove the manifold each year grinding the head and applying JB Weld. This made the head last a few more years and I finally replaced the head a few years ago with a automotive Volvo 230 head at the cost of $850.00 new manufacture, I replaced the manifold at the same time. I have reduced the corrosion effect by; Not beaching the boat, not leaving the boat in the water for an extended time, and not turning off the motor while on the water with a heavy load on the stern. I don't believe there is a solution for this problem because there is no elbow for the manifold to raise the waterline.

Thanks for the info, I couldn't see where adding a stainless sleeve would stop the corrosion or salt build up. Looks like I have a couple years left on the fix, Most likely will just have it welded up and cut back to spec. then.
