Hello,
Just purchased a new-to-me 19" boat that weighs 2900lbs dry. It is on a Venture VB3000S trailer that is rated, based on the manufactures web site, for 3000lbs. Seems like the trailer is too small for the boat, based on my calculations. What's the rule of thumb, remain 10% under load capacity? If I'm correct, then the capacity of the trailer should be at least 3200lbs. Is this going to be a problem or does this sound about right? Even the larger trailers for 20' - 21' boats only go up to 3100lbs and 3300lbs.
Thanks for any insight you can provide.
Regards,
Michael
