Hello, all.
I have a 2006 mercruiser 5.0 MPI that I just purchased last season. I decided to change the spark plugs as preventative maintenance as the boat is 6 years old. The operation & maintenance manual states that the correct plug is AC platinum 41-983, but the plugs that I pulled out are 41-932.
At first I was not not concerned, but the size of the plugs are slightly different, and I decided to look up the heat ranges. The plugs that came out are 4, and the replacements are 14. Seems like a big difference, and from what I understand, a plug that is too hot can lead to a burnt piston.
Does anyone have an idea which is the correct plug?

Thanks,
Matt
