Correct Prop Size for OMC 50 hp ?(1974)

Any good suggestions?<br />Boat is 14 foot fibreglass. Runabout. 200 pounds of passenger weight.<br />Motor came with 2 props<br />Aluminium 13 3/4 x 15<br />S/S 13 3/4 x 11.<br /><br />Boat goes no faster than the 13 Aluminium<br />with 15 HP and same load that I had previously.<br />thank you for any help.<br /><br /> :rolleyes: <br />makapam@bigpond.com

Hi, Maxi.<br /><br />You need a tachometer to correctly select your prop pitch.<br /><br />The correct prop will allow the engine to reach the top of it's "operating range" with a light load.<br /><br />I think your engine should be turning around 5500-5800rpm at WOT.<br /><br />Good luck. :)
