I went to a marine shop that's local here, and I got a set of condensers and points for my 67' 9.5 horsepower Johnson outboard. Model MQ-13B

They gave me the points and condensers from a 68' and when I got em home and took the flywheel off my outboard, they were the wrong condensers.

Which condensers will match this motor?

67 and 68 is the same, they must have messed up entirely with the condensors. It's the same setup Evinrude/Johnson had used for years, no difference.

I guess so. The condenser (yes 1) that came in their little "tune up kit" has a different bracket on it.

Of course, the one they sold me is also much more expensive than they told me on the phone.

I wonder.

Thank you all for the help.

I went in to return the part, and the guy recognized me and went and grabbed the right part before I could even tell him what was wrong.

So, I'm good to go now. Also got a carb kit, figure to rebuild it.

The motor doesn't like to idle.
