I am buying my first boat (other than a canoe). It is a 1987 Correct Craft Dominique. I can find no information on the Dominique. It looks identical to the Nautiques of the same era. Mechanically appears to be the same with a Ford 350 inboard. Can anyone provide me with information on a Dominique or know of a link where I can get info? Thanks in advance.

Re: Correct Craft Dominique?

SteevieO.. I can't give you any info on the Dominique, but i can vouch for the quality of Correct Craft boats...

In my Opinion, Correct craft is one of the fineist boat companies ever... Very good attention to detail and strong construction..

That being said, you still need to inspect the boat very closely like you would anything else...

I've never seen a Dominique, so based on the info you've given (identical to ski nautique), the boat should have a top speed of about 40-45mph, and will cruise nicely about 28mph @3000rpm.....

Good luck.. :)

Re: Correct Craft Dominique?

I USE TO HAVE A DOMINIQUE SO I KNOW A LITTLE ABOUT IT. IT HAS THE HULL OF A BAREFOOT NAUTIQUE SO IT HAS THE RISERS IN THE FRONT. (THE RIDGES ALONG THE SIDES OF THE KEEL. THE SKI NAUTIQUE DOES NO HAVE THESE. I'M TOLD IT HELPS TO GET THE BOAT UP ON TOP OF THE WATER QUICKER AND THEREFORE UP TO SPEED A LITTLE FASTER. IT WILL PUT OUT A LARGER WAKE THAN A SKI NAUTIQUE BUT IT ALSO CUTS THROUGH WAVES A LITTLE BETTER SO YOU SEEM TO GET A SMOOTHER RIDE. I ENJOYED MINE BUT WE TRADED IT IN FOR A BIGGER SPORT NAUTIQUE. REMEMBER THAT IF IT HAS BEEN CARED FOR PROPERLY IT IS REALLY HARD TO GO WRONG WITH A CORRECT CRAFT.
