Correct Craft Barefoot Nautique

Hi. Hope this is the right place.
I am working on a Barefoot Nautique, PCM V-8 / Holley.
One of the issues is the hydraulic piston that lifts the engine cover operates only one way.
It is a two-wire pump motor that will raise or lower depending on the wiring.
Since the motor is only two wire and the motor will operate if the polarity is changed, I'm thinking there must be an inverter somewhere that is not functioning, yeah?
Can anyone help me diagnose this?

Ayuh,.... It's either done right within the switch itself, or with relays, or solenoids,...

Follow the wires, 'n see what/where they lead too,...
