cork t-stat gasket

Does the cork gasket for the t- stat go in front or behind the t-stat on a 1992, 90 horse v-4 crossflow? Thanks in advance.

behind it<br /> place the cork in the body then insert the t-stat.<br /> good luck and make sure the tiny vent hole in the body is clear and dont get sealer in it
