I have been getting a high temp alarm after cruising for a while. I just replaced a broken reed valve #2 cyl. I opened the head cover - no obvious problem, same with exhaust cover/gaskets.I also pulled the thermostat and poppet valve - all in good working order. I get very little pressure and air/gas in pee hole stream. There is a lot of warm water running out of the front of the foot. I replaced the water pump impeller and pump/tube seal. After pressurizing with a garden hose, foot off, I can see water running out from the drive shaft hole. Where could this water be comming from and why do I not have any pressure.

Has someone done some work to the waterpump in the past?

If so its possible that they did not silicone the baffle plate that separates the exhaust passage from the waterpump.

TMD
