I have a 1992 15HP manual short shaft I am trying to get going. It has been sitting for about a year. Last year I replaced the impeller and water pump housing. When I cranked it a couple of days ago it cranked fine but water wasn't making it out of the lower unit. It was just flowing out the lower unit. Sooo.... I backwashed the water reservoir from the motorhead and water flowed fine in reverse. I checked the pee hole, fine. I checked the hose, fine. I took the lower unit off, removed the water pump, impeller, etc. Everything looked fine. I put it all back together the way I know to do. I know the impeller is pointed the right way. It still isn't working.<br /><br />Something I noticed in the manual. In the water pump, there is a quarter circle hole. The same hole is in the cup the impeller fits in. Are these two holes supposed to be aligned a certain way. Mine are pretty much lined up. The manual looks like they might be opposite one another.<br /><br />One other thing, is it possible the hose that hooks into the water pump isn't lining up?? Is there a trick to lining those things up (since you can't get your hand up in there)?<br /><br />Thanks for any help you guys can offer.
