1996 5.7 vortec motor /alpha 1 gen 1 . i put a raymarine ev1 autopilot on boat and switched to hydraulic steering from cable steering ,also eliminated my power steering pump ,belts and hoses,My question is, the water hose that has oil cooler inline ,now that i do not need power steering oil cooler what should i do ,eliminate the cooler ,replace with a sleeve(maybe pvc pipe),or just plug up oil cooler ,where power steering hoses connect to cooler? any help greatly appreciated thank you

i would defiantly not use PVC or any other plastic if you put a pipe there., on that note , either leave it and plug the PS line holes, stick a pipe or rubber hose in there.
not much difference however you do it .
