Cool battery charging cord I’ve been using

I’ve found this set-up helpful for charging hidden or obstructed batteries. I attach the female end permanently to the battery and then hook the male end to a charger. When I need to charge I just plug it in.
The connectors are color coded, the wire is polarized and you can see that on the male end one side is shorter than the other so that there’s no chance for the charger clips touch. I’ve been using this on my MGB for years without a problem. Maybe someone else will find this useful

I'd be awfully leary of using that especially around kids. Too tempting to plug into a wall socket instead of the intended purpose here.

I'd use something like this instead:

I have one in my 78 Trans Am mounted on the firewall to provide a good ground to the rest of the car. Grounding was a nightmare in these vehicles.

BTW: That's how my wife's '22 Durango is setup under the hood - two remote battery connections. The battery in her Durango is under the passenger seat.

Luckily I hate children. As a homemade MGB charging wire it’s worked great. The battery is under a closed panel behind the seats.
When I was a kid I stuck a fork in an outlet and I turned out fine…I think.

I setup something similar.
Its a trailer boat, so no need to waste space with an onboard charger.
Only leave it in the water when on vacation in Canada.
I used this.

When needed, carry the 2 bank charger to dock in waterproof box.
Plug is in storage compartment.
Other end is routed into battery box.
Snap it together and plug the charger into the outlet.
Both batteries get a full charge before I wake up.
Simple and clean, and nothing gets connected incorrectly.
