So I just removed an old seized 40hp Johnson motor and I replaced it with a newer 25hp Johnson. The older motor had one push in bolt that attached the steering cables to the motor on the front of the motor.

The new motor has three mounting holes on the top of the front bar. Does anyone know where I can get a conversion kit (or even a new steering linkage for the new motor and new mountings?

Thanks,

I used an eye-bolt down through the center hole.. Probably not the the way it was designed but it worked good... If you do this you may need to shorten or lengthen the steering cables..

I never actually thought about installing it from the bottom.... That might actually work.

The factory bracket for this is listed in the accessories catalog.-----Just takes a bit more coins.

Are you talking about this bracket? I guess it screws in the two outside holes?

Yes. The center hole is for push-pull cable steering such as Teleflex, ect and gives proper steering arc for those. The one you posted extends out and gives proper steering arc for cable/pulley steering.
