How tough is it to do this on my 4.3 merc? I have a cooling tube i got somewhere. It's got a radator cap, can't i just bolt on a water pump to the front of the motor for circulation? I know it can be done, i've seen it, what all is involved?
You have a seawater pump in your sterndrive that pumps more than adequate water to cool a freshwater cooling system, and you have a circ pump already on your engine. The heat exchanger is only a start. You will need the rest of the hoses, tees, housings ,gaskets to complete the job.
