I have a '90 Chevy S-10. I cut off the wires at the bumper to convert to flat 4 prong to match the new trailer . Now I have no brake lights on the truck . I'd appreciate any advice .

did you check for the obvious?
1)blown fuse
2)bulbs burnt out
you could have caused either when cutting the wires, from the metal blade of the cutter.
3)did you cut the 'feed' wire to both tail-lights?
if you don't know, then you'll need to get a tester to find out. like a cheap 12v testprobe from autoparts store, and ask them how to use it, or ask here for more details. good luck

You need to put every thing back orginal and buy the plug in adapter no cutting and every thing will work
