Has anyone ever converted their bunk trailer over to rollers? I have a 19' boat with a escort bunk trailer that I might change to rollers. My local boat store sells the kits and I was wondering if anyone else ever did this and how did it work for them.

Thanks!

CDC

If I may ask, Why do you want rollers?

I have a 22ft. Capri, and I love the bunks.
Very easy to get on and off.

H.

cdc,

I agree with Homerr. Bunks are much better for the boat than rollers. Unless you launch at some really lousy ramps, I'd stick with the bunks.

Re: Converting Bunk Trailers

I like the rollers. Many times I pulled to the dock and had people tell me need to wait for tide to come in a little as last three boats could not get out and they were much smaller than mine. Within two minutes mine was on the trailer pulled up tight and the safety chain hook up. I truly belive I could lunch and retrive my 21 foot boat in my front yard with no damage. I did double the number of rollers frome what they recomended just to make sure had enough hull support. Do not unhook winch strap until wheels are in the water.
Bunks do support the hull better but if adjusted rollers to be under hull bracing can be great, self centering and the wife could crank it up.
