I have a 50 hp 1996 honda with a handle, aka a manual. I was wondering if i could convert this so that my console's steering wheel, shifter, and accelerator will work with it. I looked on honda's site but i was confused as to how far those conversions went. Does one conversion do it all, and allow you to get rid of the handle?

Thanks for your response
Dana

Hi Dana

Most motors in the range where both remote and handle could be used are offered in two versions. The differences are minor and if you want to convert to remote you'll need the conversion kit + a remote control and cables, designed for the actual motor and suitable for your boat. Gear, throttle and electrics can then be controlled from the remote box. Add to this the needed steering parts (if already present maybe just some kind of bracket to connect the steering cable to your motor).
