converting 1999 30hp to 40hp 3 carb 4 stroke

I have a 1999 30hp carbed 4 stoke and have been told it is the same motor as the 40 hp.Is it possible to increase hp to 40 and if so what is required to do so ?

Yes... Sell the 30 and buy a 40...

After the extra cost of buying and fitting Carb, and maybe ignition modules, it will have cost you more to 'convert' than a new engine. As well as the extra expense, you'll have an engine than isn't easy for the next person to maintain, because it has been bastardized. You know what you've done, but the next few people won't.

Leave it standard and if you want more power, buy a bigger engine....

This is a very easy upgrade and costs about $15 USD. All you have to due is pull the carbs and spacer and replace the isolator with the 40 one(#834784T) as the 30 has smaller holes (restricter plate)..

Faztbullet,that was what I have been told but was not sure if any of the jets or any more components were needed to be changed also.
