Convert Tohatsu/Nissan 40C to "deadman" ignition kill switch

Hello everyone,

I just acquired a 16' Inflatable with a Nissan 40C 2-stroke motor. It has a tiller handle, but unfortunately the kill switch is the "push button" type and knowing that inflatable's have propensity to pitch their occupants overboard suddenly I want to swap it out for a "deadman" type switch (with the red coiled cord and plastic clip).

Does anyone know if Tohatsu makes a retrofit kit that could be swapped out?

That must be probably an old model, newer ones comes with safety lanyard and switch part N? 398068300 (Lanyard Stop Switch) around + $ 30.00. Check any Tohatsu dealer, even Paul.

It'll work. Use adhesive-lined shrink tube over the connections.
