Convert to stern drive?

I'm about fed up to here (pointing above head) with my Merc outboard. Is it at all feasable to convert one of these things to a stern drive system with a motor I'm comfortable working on? Or am I just asking for a headache bigger than one head can hold?

Aeronutt<br />You did not say what Size or type of boat but you can be sure it will cost over $10,000. on a small boat. You would really have to like the boat. It would be a lot easier to just get one of the new 4 stroke outboards. A I/O the engine is like a car but still have all the outdrive just like on a outboard.
