Ok, don't get upset, I do a search, but I have not found complete detail instructions for someone like me that has never done this before.

I have a 1957 10hp Johnson.

So if you have come across a thread with all the info in it already, post the link or if you don't mind post some step by step instructions.

Also, do I just go to an OMC dealer and buy a fuel pump or is more difficult to find one for my motor?

Re: Convert Pressure Tank to Fuel Pump

You'll need a fuel pump that uses a hose to drive the pump. Most bolt onto the motor directly. If I remember correctly, one from a 1970 50Hp will work. You'll have to remove the intake manifold and remove the reed valve over the pressure fitting to the air side of the pressure tank. That'll give you the pulse needed to drive the pump. Next you'll have to find someplace to mount that big pump under the hood.

Mercury used a smaller pump on some of their older 6s, 7.5s, 9.8s that would probably work and they're a whole lot smaller.

Then all you need to do is replace that 2-hose connector with a single hose connector. If I remember correcly, it'll bolt right on. I have a 1954 10 Hp and I'll probably be trying that myself. I have a tank but no connector. They're still available, but a whopping $60. Too rich for my blood.
