convert from tiller to remote on 15hp mariner

i have a 15 hp mariner 1989 that i have not used in 10+ years. i would like to convert the tiller to remote. the boat i just got has a mercury remote control 1975 vintage. is it possible and what would i need. any suggestions would be great.manual start is ok.
