You need to identify the harness plug connector colors. The 70 is probably yellow if the 73 is also yellow that is a good thing. The 70 is pushbutton shift? What type of shift is on the 73?

Thats a fix I've heard of on the old electric shift controls. Toggles replacing pushbutton. What color is the engine harness plug on each motor? If both yellow I think you are good to go.
