Control/Drive Sync Issue

[1999 Searay 180BR]

Long story short... Boat runs fine except when control is moved to what would be the neutral position, the drive does not disengage.

Without squeezing the control lever lock I can apply slight pressure to the control lever in the "Reverse" direction and the drive will disengage.

Adjustment or replace cable?

Ayuh,..... That's a Classic symptom of a draggin' sticky lower shift cable,.....

Any 'freeing up' is a short-term fix... It will start doing it again quite quickly... Just replace (and adjust) the cable...

OK. Is this a "Universal" part ? Anything else I should replace while in there? Thx
