Control Box/Switch Motors

I am new to the Forums

Have a 1998 Nissan NS9.9D2(converted to NS15D2) on my pontoon boat.
My question is would a 1989 Nissan NS40C just be a motor swap and still use my existing controls or would I need to switch controls also? Both motors are manual trim.

They both call for the RC5C, PN 383Q843504 (electric start) or RC5D, PN 3B7Q843601 (no electric start) control box.
