Model ns25c3. Asking price, fully serviced is $1775.00. Far above the average retail in nada guide, but as its fully serviced....compression 130 in each cylinder. Thoughts?

Not worth it, too old, serviced doesn't make much of a difference.

Nissan 2 stroke M25C3 is the latest model still being fabricated in Japan, can bump that OB to a 30 HP for peanuts cost. Ask for a reduction price if possible. Should have consider model and ending letter before saying it's an old OB which isn't so.. BTW, it's a disguissed same Tohatsu M25C3 model.

The design/model is only a small part of it, nobody said it was a bad motor, but it's 17 years old.

Being a 17 year oldie is relative. Run hours counts more than age. You guys like running very old dinosaurs well taken care of, this one won't be the exception, should not dissapoint. Being an actual model which has not been electrically nor mechanically upgraded a bit as actual one, will assure fresh available service parts and long live the outboard. .

Knowing was fully serviced I would buy it, ask for a price reduction and a written warranty for the service received for my peace of mind. A new 2 strokes 30A4 costs more than 4 K, turn that 25C3 to a 30A4 for peanuts cost, latter can maximize a less prop pitch if in need to bump wot revs towards max range in case it's needed..

Sorry to sound like a dummy but I am curious. What steps do you take to bump that 25 to a 30?
