Connect manual choke 1983 Evinrude

We are having issues re-connecting the choke. Can’t seem to connect it so the chambers open and close on the carb.

Any pictures of similar engine would be appreciated.

have added a picture. As you can see we are having trouble connecting the manual choke. Would be great if anyone can give some guidance on how it should look.
