Re: compression testing

Hi jrc....

I use a screw in type. I remove the spark plugs, screw in the tester and crank the engine watching the gage till it stops rising. I keep track by writing the compression of each cylinder. Compression should be within 5 to 10psi on each cylinder cold. This will vary a little on a warm engine. The auto type will work OK for you.

If you find any cylinders that are off by a minimum of 10psi, do a decarb and test again. Sometimes a good decarb works wonders.
