Compression Test question

sorry but this might seem like a dumb question but here goes...<br /><br />I recently had a used cylinder head installed on my Mercury 90HP 4 stroke O/B. Is a compression test necessary or advisable after installing a new cylinder head?<br /><br />My mechanic says No.

I sure would, just to be sure everything was fine. Seems like a no brainer to me.

It's a 5 minute test to make sure the gaskets have all seated etc etc... (Especially if the block and head wern't checked for warpage)<br /><br />Lazy mechanic... Fire him, or kill him... Whichever is easier ;P
