90 kawaski 650ts, i was trying to get it to run first i did a compression test one clyinder was 175psi and the other was 125psi..it started up but when i put the hose and turned the water on the one clyinder with 125psi started filling up with water..the one on the right(i'm pointing with my finger) my question is whats the most likely cause?? I also see a bolt missing from the right (see pic) let me know if that would have anything to do with it..this engine sat along time thanks Erik

When did it start to fill up with water? Immediately or did you jsut run the water through the ski but didnt start the motor? if you just ran the water without the motor started you filled up the motor water passages and exhaust then it started to backflow into the motor.

If you had the ski running and it filled up with water you either have a bad headgasket or somewhere a cylinder wall/ transfer port has a crack in it and water is coming in.

That hole ther eis not a head bolt hole. its for some bracket if I remember right for a case drain

let me know how you flushed the ski

Here is the correct procedure for flushing a motor.

1. Hook up the hose.
2. Start the engine.
3.Turn on the water.
4. Flush the engine for 2-4 minutes.
5. Turn off the water.
6. Shut off the engine.

Any other way and you will flood your engine. BTW, you better get that motor started and run it asap to dry it out and prevent rust. Good luck.

Re: Compression results with pics

the head torque is 21 Ft lb the compression shoudl be about 160 give or take a few psi. if youre at 125 you got problems
