compression readings merc 500

hello, i did (first time) compression test on an old merc 500 1965' 4 cylinder. these are the #'s i came up with the engine was cold and i used pull rope till the reading would go no higher . #1 123psi, #2 129psi ,#3 120psi ,#4 114psi . should i have sprayed some oil /gas mix in beforehand just so the engine is not dry and how are these readings as far as running smooth ? thanks for any comments
