1995 70hp has had its share of problems this summer. After replacing a blown headgasket ("discovered" after an overheat scenario) have been concerned with #1 cylinder compression and check it after each 2-3 hrs. of running. It had held steady @ 115 psi. After an afternoon of flawless performance OB was flushed and sat for 2 days. Starting this AM it was obvious that only 2 cylinders were firing. Sure enough #1 had 2-3 lbs. compression.

This motor is used year around, seldom sitting for more then 2 weeks. I use only fresh fuel with SeaFoam added each time and there are probably 12 hrs. on the OB since I last decarbed. I'm tempted to get a rebuilt powerhead and put any nagging, continuing problems behind me that may be "left over" from the overheating. Any wisdom out there in the forum would be appreciated. And, any recommendations on powerhead rebuilders?

Your head is probably warped. It can be milled anyplace that machines auto stuff.

Pulled the head and saw signs of a broken ring. Decided on this company for the powerhead rebuild http://1outboard.com/. Quoted me $1800; my complete powerhead (yanked-off with ignition, carb, starter, etc.)rebuilt and run-in, head re-torqued OR $1500 for bare short block sent and returned rebuilt.
