Hi to all, and thanks for all the info I've learned in the past.<br /> I'm trying to do a compression check on an 84 merc 35 hp s/n 62490024. I've done a check on the top cylinder, but was wondring what the trick was to getting the compression gauge screwed in to the bottom cyl. The lower cowl blocks direct acess to the lower plug hole. Is there an adapter avalible? Ideas? ...thanks

Re: Compression Check on 35hp

Compression gauge I am using does have a rubber hose. The problem is the clearance between the cylinder head and cowl is just about the length of a plug with the wire attached, actually a bear to get the wire on and off. I can't bend the comp gauge hose tight enough to get a straight shot at the plug hole and get it started. Just thought some other member had run across this model/problem before. Thanks
