Compatibility

Hello guys,

I'd like to know if the Mercuiser Alpha One 1st generation is compatible as a replacement for an OMC 5L sterndrive? Someone said that it was, and even if not, are there any sterndrives that are easier to find and would work?

I would post this in the MerCruiser I/O forum. Those guys are experts. However, I am really skeptical that you have correct info on that swap.

The only way that would work is a full on pulleys to prop driveline swap,.....
