My brother just bought a Robalo with twin Mariner 200's. The most complicated problem he has located so far is with the console mounted control box. The port control will not shift into reverse and a service man has determined that it is in the control. My question is, is it possible to get a new control module for just the port side of the control? The port handle is the trim handle. If so. what part # is compatible? It is a commander 3000 # 88688a48 I think. It is not the original control for the boat which is about a 1998. I have read that these are not good controls so what can we replace it with if the aforementioned plan won't work? Thanks, sorry for the lenght of the post.
