compass corrector

I recently bought an old building, inside the building I found some old parts. I found a brand new never used DARRA COMPASS CORRECTOR BY AQUA METER. I have no idea what this is I know it is not a compass. can someone tell me what this does? thanks in advance

I have a GUESS, (your mileage may vary). An aircraft compass has adjusting screws built in that essentialy move tiny magnets in or out to compensate for metal and electrical fields in the vicinity of the compass. I'd guess this performs a similar function.

The Darra compass corrector is used to correct compasses for deviation. If it is a sun compass corrector (My Guess), there should be a place in the center for a long pin. The pin and scaled card acts as a sun dial, and you use that to correct a compass.
