I thought I'd share my last project for the big trip of my summer this year. I took the family down to the beach for a week again and this year we needed to be able to haul everything in one trip. So I started looking at trailers and had my mind set on a 30 ft aluminum after many hours of looking a decently priced Magic tilt showed up. I snagged it up brought it home and made it what it took to complete the trip with just 1 tow vehicle.
The 1st part was to build a set of racks to carry the 2 SeaDoo Spark Trixx we have. I had some 4" galvanized c channel laying around so that was what I used. I began with adding tabs to secure a 2x4 to for the bunk for each side of the seadoo. I used the original spacing from the double pwc trailer I have to set the bunk spacing. Next was placing the seadoos on the trailer. I moved them as far up as possible without hampering tight turning and then drilled the channels for thru bolts that allowed me to secure everything to the trailer without drilling holes in the trailer.
Next after that I used some 4x6 timbers that I had for the boat bunks and got it all placed well on the trailer. Then came seeing the head stock for the boat and figuring out how everything could live together in the same trailer
Of course what would a trailer be if it didn't need any parts. It turned out the trailer needed everything under the frame rails so I did all that stuff and checked the rust on the axles and replaced all the springs and hardware. Then I found every single tire had a checked spot in the tread so I bought 4 tires too. And just because I had that issue from the springs and tires I went over the hubs and also added electric brakes. Electric brakes are awesome and I love them. The trailer lights were good so there was one thing I didn't need to screw with. We made the trip with no issues got lots of compliments where ever we went and and had a absolutely wonderful time fishing and jetsking in the intercoastals down in SC.
