Has anyone caught or knows of someone who has caught a fish in the Columbia River near Vantage Washington. Other than Salmon.

Re: Columbia River

From Vantage bridge to Wanapum dam: never caught any salmon (but, never fished for them either). I have taken stealhead, LM Bass, SM Bass, Walleye, Squawfish and suckers.

Re: Columbia River

Back in 70s we fished that stretch of river. At the time I was living in Ellensburg. Never caught a fish. Coming back this summer to do some trout fishing and was just wondering.

Thanks for the info.

Lovely trout fishing higher up in the Cascades, but not heard of any in the Columbia there. Last summer, we fished for all those mentioned by Suzuki, and caught SM bass, Northern Pike-minnow (OK, OK, squawfish) and lots of some kind of sucker. We were more interested in staying cool than catching fish and stopped by 11 a.m.

Lots of info on: http://wdfw.wa.gov/

We cough some nice trout in the Cascades last summer. What a pleasure to fish a trout stream.

Will be back this summer and try it once more.

Between Tennesee and Washington's High Cascades, there are about a bazillion places to trout fish. Let's see....go up through Wyoming before you get to western Montana, work your way up to North Idaho on the blue highways, then across to the Cascades. Down through WA, then Oregon, then No. Cal., then across Nevada, Utah, to Colorado....should be able to get it all in about 4 lifetimes.....

Fished all of them and have enjoyed myself. We all ways end back in Washington to visit family and friends.

There is some good trout fishing in Tennessee.

Hope there is a great snow pack this year to replenish the water in the lakes.

Lets say I have fished in all of those States but by no way every possible water way.

Northern Idaho is really a great place to fish.

Re: Columbia River

trout fishing in vantage is superb but not on the big river. go to town of beverly just below the dam. turn left at the gas station follow to nunnally lake parking area. walk in from there approx 1/4 mile. trout are big and lots of them. selective gear only no bait. fly fisherman do best. no boat access but good shoreline and excellent float tube lake.

Re: Columbia River

You are talking Grant County. Fished that lake back in the 70s when it first opened. Can't remember the name of the lake started with L. Back in the 90's it was a good place to get your windows broken out.

Back then single hook no barb and one fish limit. Was a cool place in the sage brush.

Edit
Reread your post. Never fished that lake The Lake I was talking about was between I 90 and Beverly Just off of 243.

Re: Columbia River

Probably Nunnally Lake....fish, did you have California or Oregon plates when your windows were broken out? :(

It's too dang bad that out-of-staters have to be concerned...but I would think Tenn plates would be OK. People here only get annoyed about California or annoying people from Baja Warshington.... ;)

I was with a friend from Ellensburg, WA. The sheriff said that they were having a lot of trouble in that area. But that was then. Natives of the area can not stand the people from Seattle.

Not sure how I ended up with three of the same posts. I guess the only way to get rid of them is to edit and change them.
