Colorado Boating Season 2012

OK, starting a new job on Monday, I'll be in Denver all this next week training. Chatting with the wife trying to decide what to do this weekend as the weather is supposed to be nice! Our brief conversation went something like this...

Me: Saturday night we're going over to Pete and Christy's house (close friends with closely aged kids)
Wife: Maybe we should go boating on Sunday, it's supposed to be nice.
Me: Sounds good to me!

Queue the OCD...I therefore pulled the boat out from beside the neighbor's house (long story, let's say I got awesome neighbors!?) put it in the garage...went to the auto store and bought some of the Macguires synthetic wax, spend a good portion of the day using the power buffer/rubbing compound and then the wax.

This will be the first day of 2012 in the water. The water temp is probably in the mid 50's and the air temp should be 65F.

I'll post pictures if the plan holds out!

Well, it rained and the weather outlook is overcast and not conducive to boating today...

Ummmmm, I think I have seen you around on the lakes! If some strange guy in a Bayliner, or old Tinny motors up to you, it may be me.

We got to scare up more of the Colorado iBoaters and do a get-together or something.

I'm a Lake Michigan Boater here in Denver on business for a few weeks, and I'm dreaming of launching my boat next week. I hope you have a great season!

Ummmmm, I think I have seen you around on the lakes! If some strange guy in a Bayliner, or old Tinny motors up to you, it may be me.

We got to scare up more of the Colorado iBoaters and do a get-together or something.

Ok, so a few weeks ago I posted about how great the weather was and the wife mentioned going boating...well, the weather turned and we ended up not going...

The weather has been outrageously beautiful the past 3 weeks, so today was the day...Was like 82 on the water, not many boats so not many waves. Water was cold, so no boarding or skiing!

We were sitting in a cove when a couple of fellows fishing asked if I had a "battery I could borrow" as both of theirs were dead..."No" was my reply...only having one fully charged battery, there was no way I was gonna let them borrow it, just in case!!! I didn't bring my jumper cables (normally I bring them, but because I just redid the interior I forgot to replace all the gear I removed)...I cruised over to another boat and asked if they had a set "no" was the reply! So, I offered to tow them to the North Marina...1/4 tank later they were there...they offered money, but the wife and I refused as it happens to all of us and we live by the "pay it forward" philosophy on the water (pretty much everywhere).

Great day, my daughter and son fed a Canadian Goose a peanut butter sandwich (you know how them Canadians are?), cruised around, played on the shale beach...had grandma along only scared her a few times!

Anyway, earliest out by about 1 week! Couldn't have asked for a better day on the water (zero issues...fix rectifier this morning and now tach works properly).
